While I don’t believe that the core of life’s happiness is derived from experience rather than things, today I’m going to share with you a list of things that make me feel happy and grateful to have.
Alright, it’s time for a confession: I’m addicted to chapstick. As a result, I’ve accumulated quite the collection. There’s something about deciding a chapstick to wear that matches my mood that makes me happy. Dry lips make me sad, so chapstick is the remedy!
For me, nothing says self-care like taking the time to take care of your skin. I love having different scents and weights of lotion depending on the time of year and the kind of vibe I’m going for.
3. Pillow Mist
While I initially got this bottle of lavender mist, since it ran out I’ve been making my own mixture that I love. It’s 3 parts lavender oil and 1 part eucalyptus. I spray it on by pillow and eye mask every night while I’m getting ready for bed and the scent calms me down and makes me feel happy and relaxed.
4. Wall Calendar
While I love all of my calendars and planners, my large wall calendar is a beautiful visual reminder of my events. This is really weird and nerdy, but waking up and seeing my calendar makes me happy.
5. My Google Pixel
I recently made the much-needed splurge to get myself a Google Pixel 3a. And, man, I didn’t know how much a quality phone like this one would change my life for the better. My technology use has improved so much since getting this phone, and not having to worry about my battery life, being able to have everything in one place, and the convenient layout, have made me very happy. Plus, Google Assistant is amazing. 10/10 recommend.
6. Good Pens
My favorite pens to write with are my G2 .38 pens, but I also use the .5 when I can’t find the .38. I also love using my Erin Condren pens for accenting. I have a vast pen collection, but these staples make writing smooth and enjoyable.
7. My Journal
I try to write in my journal every morning and night for one page. I love finding a journal whose aesthetic fits my current one. It makes me happy to consistently write my thoughts in it.
8. My Yoga Mat
For anyone who knows me, this won’t be a surprise. I have such a positive, happy association with my mat for obvious reasons. It’s beautifully worn and well-loved.
